This part of the lab is presented as a Hands-on Labs Interactive Simulation. This will allow you to experience steps which are too time-consuming or resource intensive to do live in the lab environment. In this simulation, you can use the software interface as if you are interacting with a live environment.

The orange boxes show where to click, and the left and right arrow keys can also be used to move through the simulation in either direction.

  1. Click Menu Navigation
  2. Click HCX
  3. Click Interconnect
  4. Click Disaster Recovery from the left navigation menu.
  5. Click Protect VMs
  6. Click the search box to type demo.
  7. Click the check box next to DemoVM.
  8. Click the arrow next to DemoVM to expand options.
  9. Click the check box next to Enable Compression.
  10. Click the check box next to Enable Quiescence.
  11. Click the drop down menu next to Mandatory Storage.
  12. Click the check box next to SiteB-DS1.
  13. Click Select.
  14. Click the drop down next to Mandatory Compute Container.
  15. Click SiteB-RP1.
  16. Click Select.
  17. Click Optional Destination Folder.
  18. Click SiteB-Folder1.
  19. Click Select.
  20. Click RPO.
  21. Click 2 hours.
  22. Click Snapshots Interval.
  23. Click 1 hour.
  24. Click No. of Snapshopts.
  25. Click 2 snapshots.
  26. Click Finish.
  27. Click the scroll bar on the right side.
  28. Click the arrow to expand next to DemoVM.
  29. Click the bottom scroll bar to go to the right.
  30. Click the second tab, Site Recovery.
  31. Click View Details.
  32. Click Protection Groups at the top.
  33. Click New.
  34. Click the name field to type in the name Demovm_PG.
  35. Click Next.
  36. Click the circle next to Individual VMs.
  37. Click Next.
  38. Click the check box next to DemoVM
  39. Click Next.
  40. Click the circle next to Add to new recovery plan.
  41. Click the Recovery plan name to type in the name Demovm_RP.
  42. Click Next.
  43. Click Finish.
  44. Click Recovery Plans.
  45. Click Demovm_RP.
  46. Click test.
  47. Click Next.
  48. Click Finish.
  49. Click Recovery Steps.
  50. Click Cleanup.
  51. Click Next.
  52. Click Finish.
  53. Click Run.
  54. Click the check box next to the statement I Understand that the process will permanently alter the virtual machines and infrastructure of both the protected and recovery datacenters.
  55. Click the circle next to Disaster recovery.
  56. Click Next.
  57. Click Finish.

To return to the lab, click the link in the top right corner or close this browser tab.
